Acts Network

WHAT IS THE ACTS NETWORK?

The Acts Network is part of First Church’s effort to be, “Disciples, Community, and Missionaries”. The Acts Network is composed of Community Groups and Worship Communities. These groups meet in homes, parks, gyms, coffee shops, wherever community happens. Through these communities, we seek to build places where believers and non-believers build meaningful relationships with each other and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ.

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY GROUP?

A C.G. (Community Group) is a gathering of people who seek to merge their faith with their lives.  Community Groups are a way of exploring ways to be the Church in our everyday environments. Community Groups are an answer to God’s call for us to be a people, living together in fellowship and love. At the heart of each Community Group is relationship with others.  The heart is always the same, but the outward structure will look different for each group.  Whether our relationships are based on breaking bread or playing music, on hiking or woodworking, on quilting or sports, we are seeking ways to strengthen those relationships and our relationship with Jesus Christ in such a way as to make a life in Christ look as glorious as we know it is.

WHAT IS A WORSHIP COMMUNITY?

Simply put, a WC (Worship Community), is a community of people who worship together in non-traditional ways and as an outgrowth of Community Groups. Similar to CGs (Community Groups) these are a way for us to be the Church in our everyday environments (Acts 2:42). This is also an effort for us, as the people of God, to fulfill the great commission given to us in Matthew 24:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”
