I wanted to take a moment today to do two things. One is we want to take a moment to celebrate and lift up to you Jake Bair. Jake is our new contemporary worship leader at the Christian Life Center (CLC). Please keep Jake in prayer and reach out to say “Hello!” when you get a chance. Jake comes to us from Messiah College (we now have a number of folks on staff from Messiah! “Go Falcons!”) and with ministry experience in worship leading in a variety of settings. But perhaps most important of all, Jake brings a deep and grounded love in Jesus Christ and a desire to share that love through music and worship. In addition to musical responsibilities, Jake will be heavily involved in helping us invest more time and relational commitment into the culture and folks of the CLC worship service. We look forward to how God will use Jake among us.
At the same time, I would ask that you take a moment, and when you see them, PLEASE offer a HUGE “Thank you!” to Mitch Marcello and Josh Tobias who have served so admirably for many, many months in the CLC worship experience. As you know, both Mitch and Josh have other full-time commitments at First Church (Mitch leads our Acts Network and Josh leads our Fuse student ministry). And yet despite these full-time commitments both Josh and Mitch were willing to help us on the musical leadership at the CLC. Under their combined musical leadership the CLC worship service has continued to grow and develop as well as the praise team itself. They have helped to recapture a spirit of vitality in that worship experience. Both Mitch and Josh went “above and beyond” in their service and willingness to help us by being great team players in this regard. I personally am so very grateful for all that Josh and Mitch and done to help us move forward.
You will still see Mitch and Josh at various times in the future as part of the praise time we hope as their other, respective, responsibilities allow. In the meantime, please be thanking them and please also be praying for Jake as he steps into this new role. We believe this is one more step for us to move in the direction that God is calling us to go so that we can ultimately see “Transformation In Christ, Changing Lives Inside and Out.”
Thanks First Church! What a joy to serve with you.
